Kitchen Islands / August 10, 2018 / Elora Goddard
This modern kitchen update required taking out part of the wall, which completely changed the layout. The small island in the original kitchen does not encourage frequent use. The clients wanted an improved flow, ample space to cook and bake, and updated materials and appliances.
The architects decided to apply the concept of deconstruction, allowing them to use the girders as ceiling lines. That demarcate the different functional zones in the open-plan living, kitchen, and dining area.
